Since opening Flashpoint Swindon in December 2019, we’re proud to have created a community of boulderers despite enduring a year of lockdowns. Now we want to celebrate that community with our first Flashpoint Swindon summer party!
On Saturday 14th August, we’ll be hosting a fun and inclusive climbing party with a triathlon-style format – could this be the first climbing triathlon in the UK?! The 3 events for the open qualification round will consist of:
- 20 amazing boulders
- 2 pump-inducing routes on The Beast
- a speed climbing challenge
This will be followed by a showcase final to crown the King and Queen of the Beast. But we can’t forget about our fantastic Juniors, so the day will kick off at 10am with a dedicated comp for the under 18s.
We’ll also have a DJ to get that party atmosphere going and plenty of prizes!
10am – 1pm: Juniors**
12pm – 5.30pm: Open Qualification
6pm – 8pm: Finals
Prizes and medals for the podium positions; raffle for everyone who enters.
£5 for members (open comp)
£15 for non-members (open comp)
£10 for juniors**
Booking is now open – but don’t hang around, we’re expecting places to sell out FAST!
**Under 18’s Booking Information
16 & 17 years olds are permitted to join the open comp. You must be registered to climb unsupervised at Flashpoint Swindon in advance of comp day.
Information on unsupervised climbing can be found here https://flashpointswindon.com/first-visit/
If you choose instead to take part in the Junior competition, you would not be eligible for a place in the showcase finals.
Junior/ Youth Comp
All under 18’s will need to be accompanied by an adult to take part in the competition. The accompanying adult will need to sign a form on arrival before the youth climber can start and remain in the building. But don’t worry we have great coffee and cake!
If you are under 18 years of age and are already registered for unsupervised climbing a parent or guardian will need to sign you into the competition. But the parent or guardian does not need to remain in the building.
