If you are new to bouldering then the best thing to do would be to book a taster session. They cost essentially the same as a standard drop in session and include all the kit you need PLUS an instructor to show you around, teach you some basic techniques and get you up and running.
If you don’t need, or want, to do a taster session then you can just rock up and register. Although it’s always best to pre-reg online before you arrive (see below).
No matter what your experience, you will be asked to watch a short video induction, read our conditions of use and fill out a registration form. The staff will ask you a couple of questions to ensure you have understood the induction and then you will be free to use the centre.
Please pre-register online before you arrive to beat the queue and save valuable climbing time!
If you have never climbed before, our Taster Sessions are a fantastic way to give bouldering a go and see if you like it. An adult who has registered at our centre will normally be allowed to supervise one child aged between 7 – 11 years old OR two children IF at least one of them is over 12 years old.
The supervising adult must take full responsibility for the safety of the participants and complete the relevant paperwork.
If you are supervising minors in Flashpoint you must be with them and actively monitoring them at all times.
BE AWARE – Adults wishing to supervise must complete our adult registration form first. After that is completed a paper “minor supervision form” will then need to be completed for each child you are supervising. If there are multiple supervisors of one child then each adult will have to complete this process in full.
If you are on a tight schedule, please allow up to 15 minutes extra for this.
We do allow experienced teenagers to register to climb unsupervised. But they must get a parent to complete an enhanced parental consent form on top of your standard registration form.
If you are 14 or 15 your parent will need to visit the centre in order to complete the forms with you.
BE AWARE – Parents wishing to allow their 14-15 year olds to climb unsupervised must complete an adult registration form first. After-which a paper “14 – 15 unsupervised form” will need to be completed, as well as a tour of the site so that we know you understand our facility.
If you are on a tight schedule, please allow up to 20 minutes extra for this.
Parents of 16 or 17 year olds can fill out the paperwork remotely, but they must be available via the phone to confirm on your first visit. You can collect one of these forms from reception or email email@example.com and we can send you a copy you can print out at home.
